Adding fractions
1. First make sure the denominators are the same. For example for 1/2 and 1/3 you would make the denominator 6 and then multiply the 1's by 3 and two to make 3/6 and 2/6. you then add them together to make 5/6.
2. Simplify
3. Convert Improper fraction to Mixed numbers or whole numbers
Subtracting fractions
1. All you have to do is the same as adding but subtract the numerator.
2. Watch out for when 1st fraction is smaller than second - then convert mixed number into an improper fraction in order to solve the problem
Mulitplying fractions
1. To multiply fractions you multiply the numerators together and then multiply the denominators together. So it will look like this 2/3x4/5=8/15
2. Multiplying whole number by fractions

4. Result is ALWAYS LESS than the original
Dividing fractions?
1. DIvidign whole numbers by a fraction
  1. Result will be larger than original number
2. Dividing fraction by fraction
  1. Keep the first fraction the same flip the the second fraction upside down and change the division sign to a multiply sign. For example 3/5 / 4/6 = 3/5x6/4= 18/20=9/10
NOTE: ALWAYS SIMPLIFY
Fractions of amounts 3/4 of 50
1. Dividing into zero: If $\color[rgb]{0,0.36,0.11}a$ is not zero, then $\color[rgb]{0,0.36,0.11}\frac{0}{a} = 0$.
Finding the original number 3/4 of the rooms in a hotel are occupied 60 rooms occupied, how many rooms in hotel?
