      1. Because of severe drought and a failure to apply dryland farming methods to prevent wind erosion, it caused the phenomenon.
        1. 1934 - 1940 was the start of the dust bowl and when it first started to rain.
          1. April 14th, 1935 was the biggest part of the storm.

              1. Weren't able to properly plant crops - let alone have them survive.

                1. It was a daily job to just clean up the dust from inside the house - no matter how much people cleaned, the dust wouldn't stay out.
