(the Colosseum), statues,
frescoes, writers (Cicero) and
artefacts
All Roman men wore
knee-length tunics; male
citizens of Rome also wore
togas. Women wore
dresses called stolas and
wraps called pallas
Poor people lived in poor accommodation at
the tops of apartment blocks called insulae. A
rich family might live in a villa in the country or
in a city domus, which would include a
reception area called an atrium, and a shaded
garden called a peristylium
