They use the internet to research other companies to see how they are runned
Advantages: can look at competitors websites and helps them keep up to date.
Dis advantages: The website could be not up to date and may not be reliable
Communication
The way companies or employees get in contact with eachother
Examples: email, social networking, chatrroms etc.
Advantages: Its much quicker than post, its cheaper, emails are easier to follow drift, encryption can be used to confidential emails
Dis advantages: Emails can be sent to wrong person, email systems can be hacked, can be put in the junk mail and the technology is needed.
Obtaining suppliers
Getting their suppliers via the internet
Advantages : you get more of a variety and can be time saving
Disadvantages: They could not look like their photo, could be a scam and unreliable.
E- commerce
A system that allows customers to access a business website to obtain goods or services
Examples: e-book by amazon
Advantages: larger target audience and always open/avaliable
Dis advantages: Need certain equipment, sellers may need storage space and time.
Online booking
reserving and booking via the internet
Examples: Cinema, flights and train tickets
Advantages: you are guarantee a place, security
Disadvantages: can cost more money and may not be able to cancel
Online auctions
Auctioning products online for sellers or buyers
Example: EBAY
Advantages: larger target audience and can be time saving
Disadvantage: may cost you money to sell on that website and you cant see what your buying
Having a website
Advantages: can reach more people and is affordable and open 24/7
Disadvantages: need time to develop databases, must always have stock, not all customers use to internet,
