AAS scpholarship
  1. AIMS
    1. to assist Vietnam to achieve the Millennium Development Goals and become an industrialised country by 2020
    2. ELIGIBILITY
      1. be a Vietnamese citizen residing in and applying for the scholarship from Vietnam
        1. not be married to or engaged to a person who holds, or is eligible to hold, Australia or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency
          1. not be a current serving military personnel
            1. not be applying for another long-term Australia Award
              1. have completed a formal undergraduate degree (for master’s applicants) or a master’s degree (for PhD applicants)
                1. commit to return to work in Vietnam for at least two years after you finish your Australian course
                  1. have at least two years’ relevant recent work experience in Vietnam, except for Disadvantaged Applicants who are required to have at least 12 months’ relevant work experience. Evidence of work experience must be provided on application
                    1. IELTS Certificates or TOEFL iBT
                    2. PRIORITY
                      1. Men and women, especially ethnic minorities
                        1. from provincial and rural areas
                          1. persons with disability and persons from poor areas – are given special consideration.
                          2. ASSESSMENT
                            1. professional and personal qualities
                              1. academic competence
                                1. most importantly, their potential to contribute to development in Vietnam
                                2. AWARDEE WILL RECEIVE
                                  1. full tuition fee
                                    1. return air travel
                                      1. establishment allowance
