Metal Extraction Equations
Titanium
Reducing Titanium Chloride
TiCl₄ + 4Na > Ti + 4NaCl
Sodium or Magnesium can be used
Titanium Oxide to Titanium Chloride
TiO₂ + 2C + 2Cl₂ > TiCl₄ + 2CO
Tungsten
WO₃ + 3H₂ > W + 3H₂O
It cannot be reduced with Carbon as this would produce brittle Tungsten Carbide
Blast Furnace
C + O₂ > CO₂
CO₂ + C > 2CO
Fe₂O₃ + 3CO > 2Fe + 3CO₂
Sulfides to Oxides (roasting)
ZnS + 1.5O₂ > ZnO+SO₂
SO₂ + H₂O + 1.5O₂ > H₂SO₄
Aluminium
Al₂O₃ > 2Al + 1.5O₂
Other Metals
CuCO₃ > CuO + CO₂
2CuO + C > 2Cu + CO₂
or
Cu²⁺ + Fe > Cu + Fe²⁺
Uses scrap iron, this is more enviromentaly friendly
