Resource summary

C3-Bond Energies
    1. Exothermic - the reactants on a graph are higher than the products formed.
      1. Endothermic- the reactants on a graph are lower than the products formed.
        1. Activation energy is lowered by catalysts.
          1. Activation energy represents the minimum energy needed by reacting particles to break their bonds.
            1. A catalyst provides a different pathway for a reaction that has a lower activation energy ( so the reaction happens more easily and quicker.
              1. The overall energy change for the reaction remains the same though.
              2. On a graph, if a catalyst has been added, the activation energy will be lower than without one and the reaction will be over quicker.
