Indigestion
  1. Stomach Acid
    1. Hydrochloric acid
      1. Kills bacteria in food
        1. Helps digestion, as some enzymes that break down our food only work in acidic conditions.
          1. Sometimes the stomach produces too much acid, causing pain called indigestion.
            1. Indigestion remedies contain antacids
              1. Neutralises excess stomach acid.
                1. Neutral liquids are neither acids or alkalis.
                  1. Antacids
                    1. Contain substances called bases.
                      1. Bases react with acids and neutralise them.
                        1. Some bases are soluble
                          1. A base dissolved in water is called an alkali.
                          2. acid + base -> salt + water
                            1. Neutral liquids have a pH of 7
                              1. Acids have a pH less than 7
                                1. When an indigestion remedy is added to an acid, it'll neutralise some of the acid and the pH will increase.
