Notable Concepts:- The Faction Class System is a law that serves to try and maintain order while it actually causes distress as factions turn on one another as there is no unity binding them
1) ''A new place, a new name. I can be remade here'- A revolution in ones self. To become someone new without any precedents holding you back. In the end this proves futile. Revolutions do not replaces what once was. History effects who we are2)' It’s my choice now, no matter what the test says. Abnegation. Dauntless. Erudite. Divergent.'- Throwing off the idea of strict et forms. She has the choice. Tris is Divergent and with that comes the ability to rebel against a society. She is not defined by a test and so is free.
Themes:-Identity-Power-Values-Societal Classes-Fear
Self Reflection:-Tris shows that everyone has a choice in life. What values it is that people hold higher than other. In the same way as people go through life they must decide what is important to them-The book portrays the idea that unity does not come from isolation but rather from the accepting of other people.
