Over himself, over his own body and mind, the individual is sovereign. The value of liberty is that it enables every unique individual to develop to gain talents and skills and knowledge. People have their own interests and unique identities and idealogies.  They should be able to think for themselves to make choices.  The idea of the individual over all other groups is paramount.
