Future tense "NOTES" WHAT IS THE FUTURE TENSE? The future tense expresses actions that have not yet occurred or that will occur at a later time. and the verbs express events or actions that have not yet happened and that will happen at some point in the future.
FUTURE TENSE FORMS simple future You will eat. future progressive You are eating. future perfect You will have eaten. future perfect progressive You will have been eating.
USE FOR FUTURE TENSES will-future future actions happen without the speaker's intention prediction, assumption spontaneous action going to-future planned action in the future logical consequence (sth. is going to happen) Simple present future action is fixed (e.g. timetable) Present progressive planned action in the near future Future progressive action will definitely happen (it usually happens) Future perfect sth. will already have happened before a certain time in the future
