When adding or subtracting algebraic fractions the denominators have to be the same

-> multiply the fraction by what it's missing from its denominator

You may have to simplify the denominator first!

Fractions with 2 linear factors in the denominator can be split into 2 seperate fractions.

These are called Partial Fractions!
