Antigens & Immunogens
Immunogens are substances capable of inducing a Humoral or CMI. They can also bind to an antigen receptor. A foreign substance can by classified as an immunogen based on immungenicity factors. Antigens are portions of immunogens that combines specifically with a receptor on B/T lymphocytes. Any type of molecule can be considered an antigen and, generally the size of epitopes (4-6 AA). Epitopes are portions of antigens that are recognized by antibodies or TCR.
