What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? When it comes to camera work and angles. I had very little experience before this feature. I had no idea when it came to camera angles; I didn’t know the different camera angles so from this project I have defiantly gained knowledge when using the camera and using different camera angles to create different effects to portray the meaning and representation of a person. For example, high and low angled shots create totally a different meaning. In addition I also learnt how to even set up a tripod and change the camera angles to suit the character. However after the preminalary task I totally grasp the techniques and photographic side of things turned out rather good. However, I would say when it came to the editing process this was one of the major processes when constructing the product as it was all down to the editor, it took a lot of time and dedication. This was my main role, the editing side of things. I had very little previous experience on final cut pro as I have only dealt with Windows live movie maker. Final cut pro was a very hard process to begin with, which is evident from my preminalry task as the editing was at its best standards. From then on I have focused and gained more knowledge with final cut pro. It was hard making decisions at first with how I edited, how I included sound, how I made transitions and fastened up clips to make the scene more dramatic. But all of these techniques I now know how to do successfully and effectively. The sound aspect of the process was very demanding as trying to find the correct sound clips to match the footage and set them to the correct timings with the footage, again this was my job to do this. However, I feel if as a group we produced our own sound it would’ve been a lot more effective and stood out from our class. But again, this would’ve also been rather demanding. As the editor, one of the biggest difficulties was the editing side of things, this was because generally it was making sure the sounds fitted with the clips and also using the correct filters over the footage to make it seem more horror like. However an advantage I came across when using technologies was always getting the correct camera angles and steady when filming to portray the horror genre. In addition another aspect of the technology that was successful was making the text on the footage appear at the correct time. I enjoyed editing; it has improved my knowledge as well as camerawork
