Remote Working

Remote Working is when people are working away from home e.g. working on trians and aircraft.

Remote working people can access their emails, files, company data and office-based tasks.

They have to be authroised to acess their files remotely. They must take full responsibility to not let their infomration be in the wrong hands.

Remote access can be by: Sharing desktop of a computer in the office, which means that the remote computer( a laptop, for example) appears to be using the desktop as if in the office. Using a virtual private network (VPN) which is a secure connection that appears to be part of an actual compsny network. Accessing files and folders using specialist software such as file transfer protocal (FTP) software.

Remote working people are being tracked the the employer to show where they are when they are trying to get to where they need to be.

Different levels of shared access is given to remote workers. The remote workers might have to work with other employees to complete a PowerPoint presentation. So the remote workers are given access so that all the employees are given access to edit and view the files.
