Solar Winds and Aurora BorealisWhen Solar Winds leave the sun they make a journey to the earths atmosphere, they first hit the earths magnetic field or the magnetosphere. This causes distortion on the the magnetosphere, which stretches the magnetosphere like stretching an elastic band. Once the tail has been stretched to its limit it gives off charged particles which in turn goes to the poles and then creates the aurora borealis through refraction.
