If a product is expensive and someone doesn't have that expensive device because they can't afford it they will be left out and isolated from the technology world.

Not all people can afford the services that some companies offer so they can miss out on the internet. This means they will be unable to join social networks- and they are less likely to make new friends and they are unable to keep in touch with current friends/family.
