Facts Multiple Object Source - cannot be used with flat file connections but are available for database and Salesforce connection. Available in Data Synchronization service. Allows you to join up to 5 objects. Objects must be from the same connection. Joining Database tables - Use Join condition (created automatically if relationship exists in database). Create Join Condition (you select keys and Informatica cloud writes for you). User-defined join (you write the join condition) How: Task Wizards > Data Sync Task> Select Connection Type and Select Multiple Source Types > Add Source Objects (if you select tables with already defined relationship - join condition automatically written for you) (If you select tables without already defined relationships - select Create Relationship - select a source object and key and do the same for Related Object) Join Salesforce Objects - add primary Saleforce object first and then select relationship from predefined related objects Salesforce Data Model and ERDs: www.salesforce.com/us/developer/docs/api/Content/data_model.htm How: Change Connection type to Saleforce > Multiple Source Type > Choose top level object first when joining multiple tables > click add related object and select related object....Add top level object again and add another related object >Next> Select target connection > field mapping - Drill down by related objects to make mapping easier >Validate Mapping > Save and Run Task Saved Queries - source object create from on or more database tables (complicated join of multiple tables). Performing aggregations in SQL or alias columns from multiple tables in one source, Support existing query, alias un-supported or nonstandard column names Best Practices: Test SQl queries on source database first. For SQL Statement: Use a SELECT statement, Do not use (*), Do not use conversion functions (TO_CHAR), Do not use COUNT function How to Do Save Query: Configure > Saved Queries> New> Name> Select Database Type> Enter SQL Query> Get Columns > Specify Connection > OK> brings back the columns returned by sql query > click ok----Go to Data Synchronization Task that is using SQL Source target, Source object will be the saved query
