How to Write a Good EssayGood essays are hard to write and this is a basic guide to outline the structure you should use for your essay. There will be numerous exam questions which require a full answer and this guide will allow you to gain a good grade in an examIntroductionThis will outline what you will be analyzing. It is always difficult to gauge how long your introduction should be but a good 7-10 minute one should suffice. From experience I have learnt that it is best to have a good solid intro, particularly in History. It is especially important in history as you must assume that the person reading your essay knows nothing about the events that occurred. In reality they will know what you are writing about so you do not have to go into too much detail, especially if you are struggling how to begin. I was congratulated by Mr. Fear for writing a solid introduction and it is a good way of showing Knowledge, something Mr. Warren-Smith is interested in.Points Against your OpinionTypically I outline the points against me first for a number of reasons. One of them is to make the essay flow better. This is because your conclusion will be expressing your opinion and if your opinion is a certain view then you will be wanting the points for your opinion just prior t it so your essay doesn't seem jolty. Another reason is that you will be able to counter the points against your view instead of having them countered and therefore damaging your essay and opinion's integrity. Remember to PEAL and show your understanding.Points for your OpinionThese will be points that outline what you think. In terms of layout I generally go for 1 point against and 2 for your opinion or 2 for and against. This depends on time but 2 for each side shows greater understanding. Remember to PEAL and analyze.ConclusionThis is arguably the most important part of the essay. It will show your opinion and allow you to evaluate and actually answer the question. You will start by saying your opinion Follow by giving a point. Say that this is a key part of the argument and why then round of the essay. Thanks for Reading.Leon of House Crook
