Chronic Kidney Failure Chronic Kidney failure is the general loss of function. When CKF reaches an advanced stage dangerous levels of electrolytes and toxins build up in the body.
Acute Kidney Injury Occurs when there is a loss of function and are unable to filter waste products from your body waste accumulates. If you are in good health though you should be able to recover easily.
Chronic Kidney Failure symptoms 1. Nausea 2. Loss of appetite 3. Fatigue and Weakness 4. Sleep problems 5. Loss of Cognitive function
Acute Kidney Injury symptoms 1. Decreased urine output 2. Drowsiness 3. Fluid retention 4. Fatigue 5. Shortness of breath
Chronic Kidney Failure Causes 1. Type 1 or 2 diabetes 2. High Blood pressure 3. Polycystic Kidney disease
Acute Kidney Injury Causes 1. Direct damage through an injury 2. Urine drainage tubes become blocked 3. Blood clots in veins and arteries around the kidney
Chronic Kidney Failure Diagnosis 1. Blood Test to see if there is an abnormal amount of Urea 2. Removing a sample of the kidney 3. Urine test
Acute Kidney Failure Diagnosis 1. Urine output measurement 2. Blood test that will reveal the amount of creatinine 3. Ultrasound
Chronic Kidney Failure Treatment 1. High blood pressure medication (ACE) 2. Lower cholesterol medication (statins) 3. Dialysis 4. Kidney transplant
Acute Kidney Injury Treatment 1. IV fluids 2. Control of blood potassium (calcium) 3. Restore blood calcium
