Questão Responda
POP Post Office Protocol. All mail is downloaded directly to the device. Much like the Post Office, a copy is not stored anywhere else. This means that the mail can't be synced across multiple devices
IMAP Internet Message Access Protocol. This allows for the server to be kept up to date. The mail exists on the server and is synced between devices. If something is changed on one device, it mirrors to the rest of them. Most common protocol as more people have multiple devices.
SMTP Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. Most common outgoing mail protocol. As this is an outgoing mail server, you don't see the email in the inbox. If the mail client supports it, it will be in "Sent". This is not synced across multiple devices. For example, if you send something on the PC, it won't appear on your smartphone
Direct Access (Webmail) Some service providers only allow access to email through a web portal. This means that they don't give out their server details and the client can only access their email via a web interface or portal
Microsoft Exchange Microsoft's Proprietary email protocol. Only available on Windows hosting. Usually used by businesses that use Windows hosting solutions for their website. Allows for email and calendar to be synced across multiple devices.
