What type of argument is the teleological argument? Define the nature of this type of argument. It is an a posteriori argument. This type of argument can only be made after empirical evidence has been used to prove the argument true or false. Empirical evidence can also be accquired through observation.
What does the word teleological mean? It derives from the Greek 'telos', meaning end; and logos, meaning reason. Teleology is based on the proposition that the universe has design and purpose. Teleology represents a basic argument for the existence of God. If the world's design is intelligent, an ultimate designer must exist.
What 4 things does the design argument try to prove? The universe has order, purpose and regularity. The complexity of the universe shows evidence of design. Such design implies a designer. This designer is known as God.
How many parts is the design argument split into? What are their names? 2. Design qua regularity and design qua purpose.
