Diffrence between Sunni and Shi'a Sunni accepted the next caliph after Ali but Shi'a followed Alis descendents
The six articles articles of faith (sunni Muslim) 1. Tawhid(Allah is the one and only 2. Malaikah(belief in angels) 3. belief in the holy books 4. Nubuwwah(belief in Allah's prophets) 5. belief in the day of Judgement 6. Al-Qadr( Allah knows and decides everything)
The five beliefs of Shi'a Muslims(Usul ad-Din) 1. Tawhid(Allah is the one and only) 2. 'Adl (belief in divine justice) 3. Nubuwwah(belief in prophethood) 4. Immah (belief in the authority of imams) 5. Mi'ad (belief in the day of Resurrection?
Key Sunni beliefs No one after Muhammed should be worshipped as he was the last one to be contacted by Allah. Focus on his way of life rather than Ali and his sons. Muslims should be guided by the majority view of the community.
Key Shi'a beliefs Ali was the firsy true caliph and his teachings were given by Allah therefore right. Imams are leaders and figureheads of the religon. There are different Shi'a Muslims -Twelvers -Seveners
What are the twelvers? Twelver Shi'as believe in a line of 12 imams the last of whom is hiding and will eventually return. They're led by religous scholars.
Isma'ili Shi'as (Seveners) They thought the seventh imam should be Isma'il the elder brother of the one chosen by the Twelvers.
Shirk The belief that other Gods exist. It is considered a sin.
Charecteristics of Allah 1. Merciful 2.Omnipotent(all powerful) 3. Benevolent(Allah is all good) 4. Just 5. Immanent( Allah js present and involved in the world) 6. Transcendent(He is above everything and can't have an equal)

Prophets Prophets are all equal and they perform miracles to prove they are prophets.
Who are the prophets Adam Ibrahim(Abraham) Isma'il(Ishmael) Musa(Moses) Dawud(David) Isa(Jesus) Muhammed
Adam Adam was sent to earth after eating forbidden fruit. Allah forgave him. He is said to have built the first Ka'aba
Ibrahim Ibrahim rejected the thought of other Gods and his devotion is learned from. He was willing to sacrafice his son (Isma'il). He rebuilt the Ka'aba and his family plays an important role in the Hajj rituals
Ibrahim He also helped build the Ka'aba. It is believed that many Arabs including Muhammed are his descendents. He is called Abul Arab(father of the Arabs)
Musa He is the only prophet that Allah directly spoke to rather than through the angel Jibril (Gabriel). He guided people to only belive in one God
Dawud Dawud is known for killing Jalut(Goliath) during a battke between Jalut's bigger army and Talut's smaller one. He later suceeded Talut as king. He would pray for a third of each night
Isa Allah sent Isa when he thought people had strayed from Musa' teachings. Isa wasnt crucified as Allah wouldn't allow it but after 3 years of teaching he was called up by Allah
Qur'an The Qur'an is the word of God . It contains 114 Surahs(chapters)
