Some types of ionising radiation can be used to diagnose or treat some medical conditions. What does ionising radiation mean? Ionising radiation is radiation that can cause electrons to be removed from atoms or molecules. Ionising radiation includes very high energy (high Frequency) electromagnetic radiation such as: ultraviolet, X-ray and gamma.
