Problems with High Blood Pressure? | If the blood pressure is too high it can cause blood vessels to burst. Causing Strokes, Brain Damage and kidney damage. |
Problems with low blood pressure? | Having low blood pressure causes poor circulation, possibly resulting in fainting due to lack of oxygen to the brain. |
What causes high blood pressure? | Smoking! Carbon Monoxide - it combines with the haemoglobin in the red blood cells which decreases the amount of oxygen the blood is able to carry. To counter act this the heart has to beat faster. Nicotine also causes the heart to increase in BPM causing higher blood pressure. |
A poor diet can lead to having what? | Heart disease - high saturated fat or salt can have an effect on causing heart disease! |

What are carbohydrates made up of? | They are made of simple sugars like glucose. They are stored as glycogen in the liver or converted to fats |
What are fats? | Fats are made up of fatty acids and glycerol. Fat can be stored all over the body. When fat is stored around organs it is known as adipose tissue |
What are proteins? | Proteins are the 3rd source of energy. They are made up of amino acids and they don't get stored. First class proteins - Come from animal proteins. Seconds class proteins - Plant Proteins. |
