What is 'Development?' When a country is improving; the quality of life improves for people living there.
Describe the meaning of: 'Gross Domestic Product.' It is a measure of wealth. As a country develops it gets higher. GDP is a measure of the total value of goods and services a country produces in a year.
What is a Country's 'Gross National Income?' It is a measure of wealth which increases as a country develops. The total value of goods and services people of that nationality produce in a year.
What is meant by the term 'GNI per Head?' The Gross National Income divided by the population of a country. It is a measure of wealth which becomes higher as a country develops.
What is 'Birth Rate?' The number of live babies born per thousand of the population per year.

Define: 'Access to Safe Water.' The percentage of people who can get to clean drinking water.
What is meant by 'Life Expectancy?' The average age a person can expect to live to.
Define 'Human Development Index.' A figure that is calculated by using 'Life Expectancy,' 'Literacy Rate,' 'Education Level' and Income per Head. As a country develops, the number should be higher. :)
Some of the 'Development Indicators' are linked. What is this link called? A correlation
Why do some countries have High GNI (Gross National Income,) and Lower Death Rates? Because a higher GNI means that more money is available to be spent upon developing healthcare facilities. This leads to treatment which can prevent deaths.
Why can Development Indicators be misleading? They are averages; the GNI of a country may be high - yet there could still be a high number of poor people as well.
