Form follows function: the shape or make-up of an object or building should be based upon its intended function/purpose

Concave: having an outline or surface that curves inward like the interior of a circle or sphere
Contrast: the state of being strikingly different from something else, typically something in juxtaposition or close association.
Implied line: when the artist lifts the pen or pencil from the paper, continuing its direction of travel, and then applies pressure again and continues in the same direction
Scored: hatch marks or lines that aid in folding paper and putting pottery together
Asymmetrical: having parts that fail to correspond to one another in shape, size, or arrangement; lacking symmetry.
Pattern: a repeated decorative design.
Curvilinear: contained by or consisting of a curved line or lines.
Abstract: art that is a distortion of reality
Tensile strength: the resistance of a material to breaking under tension.
Sustainability: the endurance of systems and processes
Green design: design that takes into consideration a product’s energy consumption in its making its use and its disposal or re-use
Symmetrical: made up of exactly similar parts facing each other or around an axis; showing symmetry.
Assemblage: a collection or gathering of things or people.
Subtractive: taking away pigment or material to make art
Additive: adding pigment or material to make art
Kinetic: relating to or resulting from motion
Orthographic projection: a method of projection in which an object is depicted or a surface mapped using parallel lines to project its shape onto a plane.
