What is Data? (Give some extra knowledge or expand on your answer if you can) Give 2 examples of Data Data is a raw set of facts or figures. EXTRA KNOWLEDGE: they have no real meaning, they are a stream of raw values which have not been sorted or structured in any way. Examples: readings from sensors, results of a survey.
What is Information? (Give some extra knowledge or expand on your answer if you can) Give 2 example of Information. Information is data that has been processed into a useful form. EXTRA KNOWLEDGE: When items of similar data are collected and processed - the data becomes Information. Examples: Marks achieved by students in a test, race times of a 100m sprint, and anything else that is suitable.
What is Knowledge? (Give some extra knowledge or expand on your answer if you can) Give 2 example of Knowledge. Knowldge is derived from information by applying rules to it. EXTRA KNOWLEDGE: Knowlege is what you are trying to find out about from let's say survey results. Examples: swimmer 2 won the race as he had the lowest time, student 9 achieved the best score as she had the highest in the class, and anything else suitable.
