Resumo de Recurso

Questão Responda
Acceptance of Punishment Part 1 Duffy finishes off the poem with the climatic sentence; "what did I do to us all, to myself, When I was the devils wife", which goes to show that Hindley might be feeling a little bit sorry and is starting to take some sort of responsibility for her actions...
Acceptance of Punishment Part 2 ... had she not said "to myself". This can be interpreted as she has been damaged by what she has done, highlighting her selfishness. She doesn't mention the children again, showing once more her lack of pity for them, just feeling sorry for herself.
Acceptance of Punishments Part 3 However, she is still avoiding responsibility till the last line as she hands over the blame back to Brady, the Devil, as she is only just his wife.
