Questão Responda
How do organisms move away from carbon into the soil? People burn fossil fuels to power factories/plants, cars/trucks and most of carbon move in faster to the atmosphere!
What is cellulose? Cellulose is an anabolically plant-produced carbohydrate!
Which part of the carbon cycle involves animals breathing in oxygen and out carbon dioxide? Respiration!
Where are most of the earth's oxygen located? Name one! the majority of the world’s oxygen is located in tiny ocean plants! As known as phytoplankton - they live close to the ocean’s surface and drift with the currents. (extreme waves)
Why is the rise of atmospheric oxygen relatively stable despite the burning of fossil fuel and the reduction of forests? The agriculture advances worldwide has increased plant productivity!
How do humans get nitrogen? Humans get nitrogen from protein and proteins include carbon, hydrogen and oxygen!
These three important types of organic materials require nitrogen. What are they? 1. Amino acids, 2. Nucleotides, and 3. Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP)
Ammonium (NH4) stays in soil, while nitrate (NO3) is easily leached out. Why do they behave so differently? NH4 has a positive charge and also, sticks to soil particles!
In what ways to the phosphorus cycle have an affect on humans? they have an impact on phosphorus cycle mainly due to the fact of the use of fertilizers, raising livestock and hogs! these compounds have a high content of phosphorus, which will lead its way into the soil and runoff in water!
The phosphorus cycle is fundamentally different from the nitrogen and sulfur cycles. How so? The phosphorus cycle does have gaseous phase, leading in no significant quantities of atmospheric phosphorus!
Why does water vapour condense when it moves far above the earth? above the earth, air tends to be colder. Cold air has less water vapour than warm air. It condenses (comes back) into liquid water!
How does global warming affect the hydrologic cycle? Global warming causes the hydrologic cycle to accelerate because warmer weather means more evaporation, and more evaporation means more precipitation. leading to extreme weather conditions!
What is the equation for respiration? oxygen+sugar glucose->CO2+H2O
What happens to the phosphorus that is carried by runoff to the oceans? it concentrates into marine sediment and some eventually gets incorporated into the bodies of marine animals such as fish.
If ground water reaches the surface, how does it re-enter the water cycle? It re-enters the water cycle by evaporation into the earth's atmosphere
