Questão Responda
Nucleus Controls all activities of the cell
Cytoplasm Where most of the chemical reactions take place
Cell membrane Is selectively permeable to ions and organic molecules and controls the movement of substances in and out of cells
Mitochondria Where most energy is released in respiration
Ribosome Where protein synthesis occurs
Cell wall (only in plant cells) Made of cellulose and strengthens the cell
Chloroplasts (found only in plant cells) Absorbs light energy to make food/contains a green pigment called chlorophyll (a chemical) for photosynthesis
Vacuole (found only in plant cells) A sac filled with cell sap and contains sugars, salts and water. When it is full the vacuole supports the cell making it firm.
Bacterial cell consists of cytoplasm and a membrane surrounded by a cell wall; the genes are not in a distinct nucleus
