How is urea formed? | 1) Proteins are digested. 2) These proteins are broken down into amino acids. 3) There may be a surplus of amino acids in the body. This can be toxic for the body. (4) The amino acids are taken to the liver where they are broken down. (deamination). (5) This forms urea. |
What is active transport? | The movement of molecules using energy AGAINST a concentration gradient |
What does the anti-diuretic hormone do? | it controls the amount of water in the blood/ reabsorbed in the collecting ducts |
When may the water level in the blood plasma become to low? | When we don't consume enough water when we eat salty foods. |
