What is the formula for Total Entropy Change? It is the total entropy of the system + the total entropy of the surrounding
What is the formula for the Entropy of the System? The total entropy of the products - the total entropy of the reactants
What is the formula for the Entropy Change in the Surroundings It is the negative change in enthalpy divided by the temperature in kelvin (remember that the change in enthalpy is the enthalpy change of formation of the products - the enthalpy change of formation the reactants)
In terms of entropy, what is the meaning of feasibility or spontaneity? If a reaction is feasible or spontaneous, then it means that once a reaction has been started, it will continue to go. This happens when the total entropy change is > 0
What happens when a reaction has total entropy change that is < or = to 0? This means that the reaction is thermodynamically stable, meaning the reaction does not tend to occur. The temperature must change for this to happen.
