Popular views of childhood\|	children are innocent and vulnerable and so we must have laws to protect them. This makes our society child centred.

Children in Britain	Parents take more of an interest in the health of their child.
Reasons for child centredness	welfare state, rights, childrens commission, smaller families, childrens consumer markets, higher living standards and moral panics created by the media.
