Marshall McLuhan is applicable to Postmodernism with his quote, 'The medium is the message.' This, basically, says that the focus is on the way that we consume media, and not the media itself, in other words, the technology is the focus, not the message.
Baudrillard has two key focuses when it comes to Postmodernism; Hyperreality and Simulacra. Hyperreality is the idea of media being an exaggerated and unreliable portrayal of reality. Simulacra is the idea that there is never an original, and that the majority of media texts are simulations of an original, or are always a 'copy of a copy'. For example, music is always a copy of a copy, because CDs, records and downloads are recreations of the recording session (original).
Jameson teaches us about Postmodern media texts referencing other media texts. The three key sections of this are; intertextuality, parody and pastiche. Intertextuality is when a media text references or acknowledges another media texts (Example: 'Pixels'). Parody is when a media text mocks another text, or references it in a funny way (Example: Eminem - 'We Made You' music video). Pastiche is when media texts acknowledge or imitate others, but not to make a mockery of them, more to honour them (Example: 'Kill Bill')
Lyotard talks about the 'death' of 'Grand Narratives' in Postmodernism and the stage of Postmodernity. This is essentially, that metanarratives, such as religion, race, politics, etc, have less significance is Postmodern media texts (Example: 'GTA V')
Walter Benjamin discusses the cheap and easy reproduction of media. The fact that media is so easy to see and receive, they become more of an aesthetic value, and less of a spectacle. Reproduction could be through illegal downloads, photos, etc, (Example: The Mona Lisa).
