Charles eventually became so concerned for Buckingham's safety that he dissolved the session. |
| Buckingham's Assassination | On the 23rd August 1628 Buckingham was assassinated at the Greyhound Inn by John Felton. This affected Charles greatly and led to him becoming closer to his wife Henrietta Maria (a known Catholic) which acted to increase the growing threat of Catholicism. |
