Why did the Irish and Scots often clash? | The Catholic Irish found it difficult to get on with the Protestant Scots so they went to live with or near each other. But the Irish protestant poor were very similar to the Scottish protestant poor so found it easier to get on. Celtic and Rangers evolved from this clash to give the Irish something to belong to. |
