Questão Responda
name and explain the 4 stages of producing an antigen receptor 1. gene rearrangment - codes for receptor, 2. lineage committment - chooses B or T cells, 3. Education gets rid of autoreactive or non-resposive cells 4. functional maturation - achieve an appropriate affinity for MHC
whats happens in equie SCID no VDJ recombination, so no T/B cells produced
what is central tolerance? if thymocyte reacts strongly to self-MHC then it will be deleted prevents autoimmunity
what is self tolerance? if T cell is unable to recognise a self peptide bound to a self-MHC then it will be deleted (has to recognise when its a self antigen and not attack so it knows when to attack a foreign antigen)
whta are lymphocytes derived from? pluripotent haematopoetic stem cells
where do T and B cells mature? B - bone marrow, T- thymus
what do B cells recognise? native proteins
what do T cells recognise? degraded proteins bound to MHC
