What is the equation for finding velocity? | V=s/t r=d/t speed/velocity = distance(direction)/time |
What is the equation for acceleration? | a = (xf-xi)/t acceleration = (final distance - initial distance) / time |
What is Newton's 1st Law of Motion? | An object at rest remains at rest and an object in motion remains in motion unless acted upon by an external force. Law of inertia. |
What is Newton's 2nd Law of Motion? | F = ma Force = mass x acceleration |
What is Newton's 3rd Law of Motion? | Symmetry Principle For every force there is an equal and opposite force. |
What is the equation for linear momentum? | p = m/v momentum = mass x velocity |
What is the difference between Mass and Weight? | 1) Mass is a measurement of the amount of matter something contains, while Weight is the measurement of the pull of gravity on an object. 2) Mass is measured by using a balance comparing a known amount of matter to an unknown amount of matter. Weight is measured on a scale. 3) The Mass of an object doesn't change when an object's location changes. Weight, on the other-hand does change with location. |
What is the value of (g) on earth? | Normally around 9.8 m/s/s although altitude, longitude, latitude, and local structures can change this slightly. |
Acceleration of Gravity equation. | a = -9.8m/s/t acceleration = earths (g) / time |
