What causes genetic disorders? Faulty alleles being passed on.
Symptoms of Cystic Fibrosis? Sticky mucus in the gut, pancreas and breathing airways, chest infection, trouble digesting and breathing difficulty.
What allele causes cystic fibrosis? What is the chance of a child being a sufferer if both parents are carriers? A recessive allele. There is a 25% chance of a child having the disorder if both parents are carriers.
What are the symptoms of Huntington's disease? Forgetfulness, clumsiness, dropping objects and tremors.
What allele causes Huntington's disease? A dominant allele.
Why does Huntingtons frequently pass on? What is the chance of a child suffering if one parent is a sufferer? The symptoms of Huntington's are not present until the age of 40. Many people have children by this time. There is a 50% chance. No carriers only sufferers.
