Questão Responda
What are the two contractile proteins of muscles? Actin and Myosin
What compartmentalizes muscles? Tough fibrous tissue called the fascia
What anchors the myosin fibers to the Z line? Titin
Why do our muscles have elastic properties? Titin is elastic, so when force is applied to our muscles the titin stretches and unfolds, when force is taken away the titin refolds.
How is actin attaches to the Z lines? Nebulin and intermediate filaments.
what is the role of troponin? It regulates myosin binding by controlling the position of tropomyosin. It is the binding site for Ca+ and when Ca+ binds it causes movement of tropomyosin exposing the myosin binding sites.
what does the sarcoplasmic reticulum do? It is the conduction system for calcium in the muscles.
