5.1 | Energy around you. |
Just a kind information... | nvm, u will realize later.... |
What is energy? | Energy is the driving force for the universe. |
5 Different forms of energy | 1. KInetic 2. Light 3. Sound 4. Heat 5. Electric |
Kinetic Energy | The energy of movement. |
Light Energy | Energy that comes from the sun, light globes, flames etc. Tt is the only form of energy that we can actually see directly |
Heat Energy | Energy that we get through sun, fire etc. |
Sound Energy | Energy that air has when it vibrates. |
Electric Energy | Energy that is produced by power stations, solar cells, batteries etc. |
Potential Energy | The energy that is stored |
Examples | battery, stretched rubber band, petrol in car's tank, books on a shelf and much more. |
4 different types of potential energy. | 1. Elastic Potential Energy 2. Gravitational Potential Energy 3. Chemical Potential Energy 4. Nuclear potential energy |
Elastic Potential Energy | The energy that is stored as a result of deformation of an elastic object, such as the stretching of a spring. |
Gravitational Potential Energy | The energy an object has due to its position in a gravitational field. |
Chemical Potential Energy | The energy stored in chemical bonds. Gasoline and the food that you eat are examples. |
Nuclear potential energy | energy stored in the nuclei of an atom. Nuclear fusion is the released energy through the combining of nuclei. Nuclear fission is the release energy through the splitting of a nucleus. |
Energy transfer | Energy can be transferred from one object to another |
3 ways can energy be transferred | 1. Conduction 2. Convection 3. Radiation |
Conduction | the process by which heat or electricity is directly transmitted through the material of a substance when there is a difference of temperature or of electrical potential between adjoining regions, without movement of the material. |
Convection | the movement caused within a fluid by the tendency of hotter and therefore less dense material to rise, and colder, denser material to sink under the influence of gravity, which consequently results in transfer of heat. |
Radiation | the emission of energy as electromagnetic waves or as moving subatomic particles, especially high-energy particles which cause ionization. |
Refference | Mr. Google |
In case if u still didn't realize... | I did not put any pictures. |
