Superego- sets standard and morals, is the moral principle, awards for parental and societal rules.
Ego- 2nd to develop, conscious and unconscious mind, moderator between id and superego
ID- present at birth, unconscious mind, pleasure priniciple, bad angel

Ego- conscious mind, thoughts, memories, emotions a person is aware of
Personal unconscious- temporarily forgetten and repressed memories
Collective/Transpersonal unconscious- most controversial; latent memories from our ancestral or evolutionary past.
Bolwby- Attachment theory, monkey, wired and terry cloth
Archetypes- images and thoughts that have universal meanings across cultures and and may show up in dreams, literature, art, etc.
Persona- the outward face we present to the world. Conceals real self; the conformity archetype
Anima/animus- the mirror image of our biological sex. The unconscious feminine side in males and the masculine side in females. Anima=male; Animus=female
Shadow- the animal side of our personality, similar to the id in Freud.
Self- provides sense of unity in experience. Ultimate aim of individuals to achieve a state of selfhood.
