Network Types
Mesh Network
Some or all workstations are connected to each other
Most are usually connected to the node they exchange the most data with
Star Network
Each device is connected by an individual cable directly to the server
These tend to be more reliable and so are used in schools and offices
Encryption
A method of scrambling data with a key code which makes no sense
In order to read it you must have the key
We use it with wifi so if data is intercepted it has no meaning

Wireless Frequency
Radio Waves transmit data packets without wires
It has a cheap set up
It can lose signal through obstructions
Can connect multiple devices easily but more slowly
Can be hacked more easily
The user isn't tied to a specific location
Ethernet
Stable Connection
Less likely to be hacked
Faster traffic speed
Generally gives out a good quality signal
