          1. Mikveh- ritual bath, used for purification rites
          2. Contrasting approaches to mourning
            1. Orthodox
              1. Shiva- strict- do not leave homes unless Shabbat
                1. Mirrors-covered, no music, no leather shoes
                  1. Sign of rejecting vanity + thinking seriously about life
                2. Reform
                  1. Shiva- not as intense- do leave home and carry on with life
                    1. Allow cremation of the body- unlike Orthodox
                  2. Shabbat practices, beliefs influences
                    1. 10 commandments, Mitzvot
                      1. No work- no baking, cooking- all done before

                            1. INTRO- Jewish holy day of week, spiritual renewal -starts Friday sunset, ends Saturday sunset
                              1. Celebrating Shabbat- recalls wonders of God's creation + keep day holy as part of mitzvot
