    1. Confessio and his letter to coroticus
    2. Confessio was written after the letters
      1. The purpose of pk writing his confessio can be found in the title and 1st line of thins confessio
      2. Pk was writing to receive absolution from God for the sins he had committed in his prerious life time
        1. "I am Patrick a sinner"
        2. Another idea is that pk was writing his autobiography
          1. It doesn't present to us the fact of pk's life
          2. Only give details where he thought it was needed
            1. It was primarily addressed to God
            2. Some see the reason he wrote the Confessio was a defence or an "apologia"
              1. Defence towards the allegations made about him which he mentions in the contents of his writing.
              2. 9+10 i had not studied like the other... theology both in equal mesures
                1. Pk admitted that he was not well educated and embarrassed of this fact, he knew equal measures of the educated when it came to the law of god.
                2. He was captured an adolescent and therefore his education was interrupted
