Pk's Letter to Coroticus
  1. Coroticus had conducted a raid on Ireland capturing and killing many of Patrick's newly baptised Christians
    1. The teaching narrative included have a clear impact not only on Patrick but fellow Christians
      1. First theme= Denunciation of the crimes he committed
        1. Getting him out of the Church
          1. 'They were butchered and slaughtered with the sword'
          2. Patrick clearly makes the point of Judgement on his Soldiers
            1. Which naturally is to an extreme level of hatred and anger
            2. Second Theme= Excommunication
              1. This is the reason for his letter
                1. It is his and his soldiers own doing
                  1. They blatantly killed and captured innocent newly baptised Christians
                2. Third= Solidarity
                  1. He will have the church on his back and together
                    1. Patrick and his 'flock' are still strongly in one
                      1. Christian Unity
                        1. All Christians deserve respect
                          1. Coroticus showed no respect to the Christians he killed
