A Christmas Carol- Stave 5
- Key events
- Scrooge finds himself in his
own bed, discovering that it is
still Christmas day.
- Scrooge has completely changed- he laughs and
wishes passes-by a Merry Christmas. He buys the
Cratchit family a huge turkey, then joins Fred and his
companions for a Christmas dinner. The next day,
Scrooge gives Bob a pay rise.
- We are told that Tiny Tim will survive, and that
Scrooge celebrates Christmas for the rest of his
life.

presented
- Scrooge: In this stave, he is presented as
a changed man and is kind and merry to
everyone around him. He is helpful
towards the poor especially the
Cratchits.
- Cratchits: They are
presented as grateful
and shocked by the
way that Scrooge is
acting. They accept
his kindness and
welcome him as a
very close friend to
their family.
- People he was
once not that
kind to but he is
now nice to
them: They are
presented as
shocked by
Scrooge's
tranformation
but so happy of
the fact that he
has chhanged.
- Tiny Tim is presented as
very significant in
Scrooge's life and future.
He is one of the reasons
for Scrooge's
transformation.

- Dickens intended
to show us that
people can change
despite what they
