  1. WWW
    1. A huge collection of websites all over the world
      1. websites are stored on servers all over the world. There's no central storage
      2. WWW is different from internet
        1. Websites are access through the Internet
          1. internet is a global network of interconnected networks
        2. Viewing webpage on a browser window
          1. The local browser sends a request to the local Internet Service Provider (ISP); which fetches the requested content from a web server located on the Internet and sends it back to your computer.
        3. HTML
          1. stands for hypertext markup language
            1. <title> <title/> how to write title
              1. <p> </p> how to write new paragraph
                1. <img src=" "> how to insert image
                  1. width=? height=? to adjust image size
                    1. <h1> </h1> how to write new heading also use h2,h3,h4 etc.
                2. to create an active link within a web page : USE <a>
              2. HTML defines the structure and content of your web page
                1. The HTML href command can be used to indicate the target of an active hyperlink
                  1. EXAMPLE to link the text Contact Us to another webpage within the same local website called contact.html
                    1. <a href="contact.html">Contact Us</a>
                  2. <input type="text" name="username"> creates a textbox to enter your username
                2. CSS
                  1. stands for cascading style sheets
                    1. CSS defines the styles (e.g. colours, fonts and borders) and the layout of web pages.
                      1. color : green indicates text/area to be green
                        1. text-align:center indicates text to be in centre of page
                          1. you can also do right and left
                    2. Websites
                      1. RESPONSIVE website means Website content automatically adjusts to best suit the size of the screen it is being viewed on
                        1. A good website features:
                          1. A limited colour palette (maximum three colours)
                            1. limited font selection
                              1. common interface across pages (similarity between pages' colour, setup etc.
                                1. To maintain the CONSISTENCY you could:
                                  1. heading and links bar may remain on all pages
                                    1. just the content section may change on each page
                                    2. same colour scheme and fonts used across all pages
                                  2. navigation functions such as buttons or a navigation bar.
                                    1. TO IMPROVE USER EXPERIENCE
                                      1. use colours can indicate success or failure e.g. green or red
                                        1. icons can help provide indicators for unread messages or notifications
                                          1. Sounds can help indicate success or failure e.g. a ping often indicates correct, and a beep may indicate an alert
                                            1. FOR A NEW WEBSITE

                                  3. A website can contain a web form to collect registration details of members who sign up to the website
                                    1. Registration details are submitted to a web server; which saves them to a local database
                                      1. a member’s details be checked and verified when they return to log back in to the website as their log in details are resubmitted to the webserver then the server performs a search of their database. If the details match, the user details are accepted.
                                        1. Website owners may use this data to contact members about offers and the data may be passed on to third parties
