    1. Clinical Significance
      1. Internal cold (or heat) accumulation
        1. (forceful) excess cold
          1. vacuity cold (forceless) yang vacuity
          2. Pulse Description
            1. 3 or less beats per respiration(less than 60bpm)
          3. Rough/ Choppy Pulse
            1. Clinical Significance
              1. Damage to essence (Yin)
                1. Deficiency of blood (not filing vessel)
                  1. Qi Stagnation & Blood Stasis (or meeting stagnation and then pulling through as in artherosclerosis
                  2. Pulse Description
                    1. 3+5 pulse- slightly slow, fine, thin, sml in diameter, short, uneven quality
                      1. opposite of slippery pulse
                        1. slower and uneven- 3-5 beats per respiration
                          1. fine and short
                            1. "knife scraping bamboo"
                          2. Moderate Pulse
                            1. Pulse Description
                              1. Four beats per respiration - non pathologic; qi, root, Shen
                              2. Clinical Significance
                                1. Deficiency of the spleen and stomach
                                  1. Dampness
                                    1. Normal Pulse- felt mainly in middle level, lively, soft but with strength, defines stomach qi)
                                  2. Slow, Irregularly Interrupted Pulse
                                    1. Pulse Description
                                      1. Slow with pauses at irregular intervals
                                        1. Skips beats at irregular intervals
                                          1. Bound, Knotted
                                          2. Clinical Significance
                                            1. Qi Stagnation
                                              1. Blood Stasis and cold phlegm due to exuberance of yin
                                                1. Food Stagnation
